Surnames: JORDAN GROBAR PENCA JORDON BENKSE ZUGICH ILOVSHEK ELLIS ----- Source: : Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wis.) 03/??/1948 ----- Jordan, Agnes (11 JAN 1868 – 16 MAR 1948) Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) – Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, for Mrs. Agnes Jordan, 80, of route 1, Willard, who died March 16, 1948, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Green Bay. The Rev. Bernard Ambrozic, O.F.M., was the officiating clergyman, and burial was made in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ludvig, Rudolph, John, and Joseph Jordon, Frank Ilovshek, and Frank Ellis. The church choir sang during the services and Mrs. Ivan Ruzic was the organist. Mrs. Jordon, nee Grobar, was born in Yugoslavia Jan. 11, 1868, was married there Feb. 14, 1887, to the late Joseph M. Jordon, and came to the United States in 1899. She was a resident of Willard since 1908, and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and the Altar and Franciscan Societies. Surviving children are Mrs. Agnes Penca, Waukegan, Ill.; John Jordon, Loyal; Mrs. Ignatz (Josephine) Benkse, DePere, Ill.; Joseph Jordon, Momence, Ill.; Mrs. Math (Mary) Zugich, Neillsville; Rudolph Jordan, Chicago; Mrs. Frank (Albina) Ilovshek, Milwaukee; Sister M. Genevieve (Christina Jordon), Green Bay; Mrs. Frank (Anna) Ellis, Chicago; and Ludvig Jordon, Willard. Three children died. There are 24 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her five brothers and sisters are dead. People who came from out of town for the funeral were Mrs. Agnes Penca, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Penca, and William Penca, Waukegan, Ill.; John Jordon and family, Loyal; Mrs. Ignatz Benkse, DePere, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jordon, Momence, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Math Zugich and Henry Zugich, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Jordon, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ilovshek and Lillian Ilovshek, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ellis, Chicago; and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Petkovsek, Curtiss. |
