Edward E. O'Dell

Edward E. O'Dell, 78, of the town of Cleveland, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home in Stratford with the Rev. Frederick Mutterer officiating.

Military rites will be conducted at Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home following the services by the VFW Memorial Post No. 6352 of Stratford.

Services will be held at McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath, Mo., at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place afterward in Senath Cemetery.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Sauter/Kundinger Funeral Home in Stratford and again from 10 a.m. until time of the services at the funeral home.

Ed was born April 22, 1928, in Marked Tree, Ark., to Albert and Octavia (Prince) O'Dell. He was married to Cora Dutzle in Neillsville in 1953 and later divorced. He then married Lucille M. Krueger on September 29, 1992, in Conway, Ark.

Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict, being honorably discharge May 1, 1952, after serving four years.

He was employed at John Deer Horicon Works as a mechanical engineer, retiring in 1987. They then moved to their present address in Stratford, where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, nature watching, working on the yard and frequent trips to Wal-Mart with his dog, Lacy.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille, of Stratford; children Edward E. O'Dell Jr., of Horicon, Denise (Tom) Kletsch of Watertown, Carol (JR) Brunner of Watertown, Alan O'Dell of Horicon, Douglas (LuAnn) O'Dell of Juneau and Renee (Todd) Steiner of Ft. Atkinson; stepchildren, Cynthia Neitzel of Beaver Dam, Pamela (John) Oechsner of Mayville, Linden (Lori) Neitzel of Neshkoro, Brian (Melissa) Neitzel of Randolph and Jeff (Sadie) Neitzel of Woodland; 10 grandchilren, one step grandson and 13 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters, Nelvin (Peggy) O'Dell of Greenbrier; Ark., Daniel (Marie) O'Dell of Senath, Mo.; Barbara (Gary) Hanson of Franklin, Ark.; Shirley (Lloyd) Greenfield of Florissant, Mo.; Jeannie (Dale) Glover of Senath, Mo.; and JoAnn (Sam) Massey of Arbyrd, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Shelby O'Dell of Paragould, Ark.; brother-in-law, Chuck Hall of Senath, Mo.; special cousin, Reeder Dean of Greenbrier, Ark., and many relatives and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; a step daughter, Susan Neitzel; one brother, Albert O'Dell; and a sister, Noveda Hall.
