(June 5, 1917 - January 20, 2007) Anton L. Romanowski, age 89 of N3802 Inn Drive, Gilman, WI, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2007 at the Zastrow Care Center, Gilman, WI. A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, WI with Fr. John Long officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call from 9-10:30 a.m. prior to service time at the church. Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements. Tony was born June 5, 1917 in Lublin, WI the son of Jaraslow & Helen (Domkiewicz) Romanowski. He grew up in the Lublin-Thorp area and attended area schools. He was united in marriage to Leona Czyzewski on June 20, 1942 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lublin, WI and in 1946 they settled on what is their now present day farm west of Gilman where they farmed and raised their family. Besides farming Tony logged, worked at the Drangles Cheese Factory and ran the Town Patrol for the Township of Aurora in the late 50’s and early 60’s. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Tony is survived by his four children: Robert Romanowski of Gilman, WI, Alan (Patricia) Romanowski of Eau Claire, WI, Dennis (Susan) Romanowski of Medford, WI and Bonnie (special friend-James Gary) Romanowski of Medford, WI; six grandchildren: Anthony & Todd Romanowski of Eau Claire, WI, Jennifer & Greg Gustum, Emily Holub & fiancé Nick Faude, Amanda Holub & fiancé Jim Larson, and Brian Holub (Katrina Mapes) all of Medford, WI; four great-grand-children: Kaylie, Julia, Jessalyn & Landen; and three sisters: Anna Luzinski of Springfield, IL, Frances Larson of Inter-national Falls, MN, & Veronica (Roman) Tyznek of Thorp, WI and many brother and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leona on October 8, 2006 and 11 brothers and sisters.
