Hubbard, Brent Thomas (21 May 1972 - 16 Nov. 2002)

Brent T. Hubbard, 30, Withee, died at his parent's farm in the Town of Longwood from injuries sustained from a farm accident.

Funeral services for Brent was held on Saturday, November 16, 2002, 1:00 p.m., at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Al Jakubowski, former pastor of Holy Rosary Church celebrated the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Family and friends serving as pallbearers were: Matt Thorpe, Al Lowrey, RJ Schriefer, Mark Stoddard, Dean Schmelzer and Dennis Eloranta.

Visitation with relatives and friends was on Friday, November 15, 2002, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen. A combined parish and Knights of Columbus prayer service was at 7:30 p.m.

Brent Thomas Hubbard was born on May 21, 1972, the oldest son of Robert and Carol (Gutowski) Hubbard, in Stanley. He received his early education at Holy Rosary Catholic School and was a 1991 graduate of Owen-Withee High School. Although Brent helped with chores on the family farm, after graduation he rented a farm in the Town of Longwood. Later he owned and operated a dairy farm for five years in the town of Withee. At the time of his death, Brent was employed with the Eloranta Farm in Owen. On December 15, 2002, Brent and the former Candace (Candy) Stoddard were united in marriage at Holy Rosary Church.

Brent was a memeber of the Marion Council Knights of Columbus and the O-W Jaycee's. He enjoyed bowling on the men's bowling league. His greatest love was for his family and children.

He will be dearly missed by his loving family, Wife Candace Hubbard of Withee; two stepdaughters: Brittany O'Neill and Trista Shoemaker, his sons: Derek and Justin Hubbard, all at home; parents Bob and Carol Hubbard of Withee; six sisters: Michele (Matt) Thorpe of Ellendale, North Dakota, Amy Hubbard of Colfax, Bobbie Hubbard of Eau Claire, Cheryl Hubbard of Eau Claire, Anita Hubbard of Elk Mound, Kim Hubbard of Withee; two brothers: Kurt Hubbard and Peter Hubbard both of Withee; his paternal grandmother Ella Hubbard of Thorp; in-laws Robert Stoddard of Black River Falls and Betty Stoddard of Neilsville.

He was preceded in death by his sister Karen Hubbard January 30, 2002, niece Julianna Hubbard February 3, 2002, paternal grandfather Allen Hubbard and Maternal grandparents Alex and Julia Gotowski.
