Thurs., 16 Jan. 1941 Washburn The Community club will meet at the hall this week Friday night; will also be a miscellaneous and fruit or vegetable shower for Mr. and Mrs. James Kalas. Bunco will be the entertainment after which the usual lunch will be served. Everybody welcome. Mrs. Paul Kuhn underwent an operation at Marshfield Hospital last week Tuesday. She is getting along nicely. Her daughter, Miss Louise, R. N., is caring for her. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Wilding spent Sunday at the Ralph Alstot home. Ernest Kissling met with quiet a serious accident Sunday evening while he was throwing down silage. He fell on the tine of fork which pierced the eyeball and side of his face. He was taken immediately to Granton where he was given a shot for lockjaw and from there he was taken to the Marshfield hospital where he was being cared for. His physicians think that the sight of the eye will not be impaired. Ernie Kuhn, Mrs. Ed. Short and Mrs. George Albaugh visited Mrs. Kuhn at the Marshfield hospital Thursday afternoon. Quite a large crowd attended the Welcome club at the Martin Reinart home Thursday. Mrs. Paul Schultz will entertain the next time. Mrs. Harry Oens entertains the Ladies Aid this week Thursday. Mrs. Krutsch and family have been sick with colds. Joseph Reinart returned home last week Monday after doing chores for Ralph Short for three weeks. A Red Cross Chapter was reorganized at Shortville store a week ago. |
