Obit: Domer, William J. (1855 – 1938)
Surnames: DOMER SCHULTE JUSTMAN MARTENS ORTH BEUMAN The Loyal Tribune 12 May 1938 Domer, William J. (15 JUN 1855 – 4 MAY 1938) Mr. William Joseph Domer passed away at his home four and one-half miles west of Unity on May 4, having attained the age of 82 years, 8 months, and 19 days. His death was due to urinic poisoning. He was born on June 15, 1855 at Two Rivers, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, and as a young man moved to Clark County where he lived for many years. On December 17, 1885, he was married to Miss Amelia Schulte of Colby. Five sons and four daughters were born to this union. Mr. Domer held many town offices and was held in high regard in the minds of all who knew him. He attended regularly the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Riplinger of which he was a member, and held many offices in that congregation. In 1935, he and his devoted wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. He leaves to mourn his demise four daughters: Mrs. Louis Justman, Spencer; Mrs. Emil Martens, Unity: Mrs. George Orth, Abbotsford; and Mrs. Bernard Neuman, Colby; also four sons, Theodore and William, Jr. of Unity; and Carl and Leo at home. One son Joseph, died in infancy. Mr. Domer is also survived by twenty0two grandchildren and one great grandchild. The following out of town people were present at the funeral which was held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Friday, May 6th: Mrs. Joseph St. George, Mrs. Paulina Engel, and Mrs. Rose Klingbeil of Chicago: Mr. and Mrs. August Buckoltz and daughter of Holcomb, Mr. and Mrs. Art Schute of Marathon; Mr. and Mrs. John Tauschek of Luxemberg; Mrs. Henry Meyer, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Domer and daughter, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Leopold Jischkouski, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Domer and daughter, Mrs. Henry Domer, Mr. and Mrs. H. Domer, and Mr. Albert Domer of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lee, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Domer, Abbotsford; Mrs. August Helmke and daughter Stratford; Rev. and Mrs. August Quandt, Black Creek; and Rev. B, F, Matter, Marshfield. |
