Raatz, Bessie (1897? – 4 Oct. 1941)

Mrs. Arnold F. Raatz, (nee Bessie Sweetland), died at the Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee, October four, 1941, of cancer of the liver. She was 44 years of age.

Mrs. Raatz grew to young womanhood in Neillsville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Sweetland.

She was the mother of two children: Marjorie Lehman and Shirlea, who survive to comfort their father. Other survivors are her father, three brothers and seven sisters, all of whom were present for the rites except the brother, Charlie, Butte, Montana.

Those present were: Gladys, Mrs. R. J. Walsh, St. Paul; Nora, Mrs. Claude Tewait; Milwaukee; Della, Mrs. George Hart, Neillsville; Maxine, Mrs. Glen Engle, Wisconsin Rapids; Dean [Jean?], Mrs. Harold Jefferson, Wisconsin Rapids, Beatrice, Mrs. William Siebert, Ottawa, Ill.; Leona, Mrs. Archie Heath, Waupaca; Parley Sweetland, Coal City, Ill.; Lyle Sweetland, Utica, Ill.; L. E. Sweetland, the father, Ottawa, Ill., and an aunt, Mrs. Etta Jacobs and son, Don, Racine.
