Fenske, Raymond Clarence (17 July 1913 – 20 June 1938)

Raymond Fenske Killed

Raymond Fenske was instantly killed when the care he was driving was struck by another about six miles north of Black River Falls about 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Ted. Scholze, owner of the car, was asleep in the rear seat. The young men were sawing lumber on a farm west of Millston, and were returning there after being at their homes for a few hours. They left the Fenske home at midnight for Millstone to complete the sawing job.

Raymond Clarence Fenske, only son of Mr. and Mrs. August A. Fenske, was born July 17, 1913, in the town of Franklin, Sauk County, Wisconsin. When he was five years old, his parents moved to the town of Cleveland, Jackson County, where he lived until his untimely death on June 20, 1938, at the age of nearly 25 years.

He leaves to mourn, his grief-stricken parents, and four sisters, Mrs. Louise Scholze, Sparta; Ida and Mrs. Esther Kurasz, Eau Claire; and Mrs. Edna Miller, Humbird; besides other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, June 22, at the Reformed church, the Rev. V. D. Weidler preaching the burial sermon. Pallbearers were six of his young friends, Ted and Walter Scholze, Victor Kubaskie, Roy Duby, Fred Glendenning, and Rob Giloy. Interment was in Mentor Cemetery.
