Barkley, Fern (Marriage – 15 Nov. 1939)

A very lovely wedding took place at the Humbird Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, at 2:30 o’clock, when Miss Fern Barkley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Barkley, became the bride of Mr. Richard F. Rosolack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rosolack, all of Humbird. Rev. C. H. Pierstorff, pastor, officiated, using the beautiful ring service. Miss Edith Simons presided at the piano. Lohengrin’s wedding march was played as the bridal party entered the church. Mrs. W. E. Waters sang, “To You,” preceding the ceremony.

The bride was lovely in floor length white satin gown and a full length tulle veil, which was held in place by an orange blossom wreath. She carried a shower bouquet of pink and white pompons. Miss Helen Mayer, schoolmate, was bride’s maid. She wore a floor length fuchsia colored taffeta gown with gold accessories. Her flowers were pink and white pompons.

Mr. Geo. Dimmitt, also a schoolmate, acted as best man.

Little Carol Moore, niece of the bride, was flower girl, in her little blue gown.

Mr. Edwin Barkley, brother of the bride, gave the bride in marriage.

“Midsummer Nite’s Dream” was played as the party left the church.

In a prettily canopied section of the Green Circle Inn, a 5:00 o’clock wedding dinner was served the bridal party. After a short honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Rosolack will be at home to their many friends in the King residence.
