Schoengrund, Louise E. (17 AUG 1857 – 23 SEP 1938)

Mrs. Louise Emilie Schoengrund was born in Germany, Aug. 17, 1857. In early childhood she was baptized in the Evangelical Lutheran faith, and later confirmed this faith. She remained a faithful member until her death Sept. 23, 1938.

She was married to Friedrich Wilhelm Schoengrund in 1880 and in 1887 the couple with their two children came to this country, settling at Lomira in Dodge county.

They moved to the town of Loyal in 1893 to a farm they purchased and on which they for 45 years.

Mrs. Schoengrund had recovered from a siege of illness, and apparently was in good health when she died suddenly at the home of her daughter at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 6 days. Death was due to heart failure.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Emilie Jenni of Loyal, three sons, Paul of Doylestown and Arthur and Carl of Loyal; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The funeral service was held in the Lutheran church here Sept. 26, with Rev. L. C. Langholz in charge. Interment was in Pine Grove cemetery. The pall bearers were Albert Davel, Max Neitzel, Herman Hinkleman, Frank Stange, Herman Konshak, and Fred Clouse. Mesdames Philip Capelle, Julius Ehlert, Fred Clouse, Herman Konshak, Frank Stange, and Herman Lieske were in charge of flowers

Those who came from out of town to attend the service were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schoengrund of Doylestown, Mrs. Marie Evert, two daughters, Miss Laura and Mrs. Assman, son Otto and Mrs. Evert’s three grandchildren, all of West Bend; and Mr. and Mrs. William Duehring, and son and daughter of Friesland.
