Sat., 3 Aug. 1935 Campbell, Carrie (10 Jan. 1861 – 26 July 1935) Carrie DeLong Campbell was born in Frankfort, Ontario, Canada, Jan. 10, 1861, and passed quietly and peacefully away at her home in this village Friday afternoon, July 26, 1935, aged 74 years, 6 months and 16 days. At the age of three years she came with her parents to Sheboygan Falls, Wis., and resided there until she was twenty-three years old. She was married to William E. Campbell on Feb. 22, 1885, by Rev. Galloway at Fairchild. The following two and one half years they made their home on her father’s farm west of Humbird. They then moved to Sheboygan, and alter to Brownsville, Dodge County, where Mr. Campbell accepted employment as a cheese maker for a period of two years. About 1894, they returned to Humbird, settling on a farm east of the village, remaining until 1912, when they moved to their present home. Mrs. Campbell was a kind and loving wife and mother, and was as active in all community life as her time would permit. In 1911 she affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal Church and was deeply devoted to her Christian faith. Surviving to mourn her loss are her enfeebled husband, five children: Guy, Harry, Mrs. Maude Newton, Mrs. Edna Long, Mrs. Arlie Rosolack; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Charles DeLong. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the M. E. Church, the Rev. Geo. W. Vaughan, of Stanley, preaching the sermon. Burial was in Mentor Cemetery. Many relatives and friends attended the services at the home and church. The floral offerings were numerous and beautiful. |
