Diethman, Vernon Edward (21 Sept. 1907 – 5 Oct. 1990)

Vernon Edward Diethman, 83, formerly of Spencer, died this morning at the Bethel Living Center, Arpin.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. David Ault officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, North Spencer.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

He was born Sept. 21, 1907, in Unity, to the late Edward and Julie Diethman. He attended Unity schools. He married Lillian Voelker July 6, 1929, at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She died in 1971.

He farmed in the town of Unity and worked for a number of years for the Colby Box Board Plant. He later moved to Spencer and worked at Pathfinder until retirement. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kurt (Dolores) Gardebrecht of Milwaukee and Mrs. Mabel Luepke of Marshfield; three sons, Kenneth of Milwaukee, Elroy of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Edward of Okauchee; one sister, Mrs. Beryl Edblom of Marshfield; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by one brother.
