Obit: Babcock, Ina (1865 – 1933) Surnames: BABCOCK CLARK O’DEA BAKER KRONBERG BOARDMAN ROBINSON DENNY Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 08/17/1933 Babcock, Ina (14 JUN 1865 – 7 AUG 1933) Stanley Republican Mrs. Ina Babcock passed away at Victory Hospital on Monday, Aug. 7, 1933, at 5 a.m. after several months’ illness of a complication of diseases. She was born near Mauston in Juneau County on June 14, 1865. Her maiden name was Miss Ina Clark. On July 3, 1881 she was united in marriage to Scott Babcock at Mauston, Wis. and they came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) where they made their home several years. They then moved in 1887 to Sioux Falls, S.D., where they made their home for many years. Twelve children were born to them, all but two having preceded her in death. Her husband preceded her in death July 15, 1919. Three years ago she came here and has made her home with relatives here since that time. Surviving are two children, Gertrude (Mrs. Frank O’Dea) of Pedro, S.D., and Euphemia (Mrs. Warren Baker) residing east of the city. Thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Also one brother, Jack Clark of Phillips, five half-sisters, Mrs. Peter Kronberg of Thorp, Mrs. Vedell Boardman and Mrs. Joseph Robinson of Eidsvold, Mrs. Ed Carey of Hillsboro and Mrs. James Gilbert of Los Angeles, James Clark of Minneapolis and Robert Clark of Peoria, Ill. She also has one sister-in-law, Mrs. Tom Clark of Owen, and she was a niece of Mrs. Mary Denny and James Clark of this city. The funeral was held on Wednesday morning at 9:00 o’clock from the home of Mrs. Mary Denney and at 9:30 from St. Mary’s Church, Rev. M.P O’Connor officiating. Interment was made in St. Bernard’s Cemetery at Thorp. |
