Rohde, 92, Eau Claire, entered into rest Thursday, April 19, 2007, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiated. Burial followed in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons: Dean Rhode, Douglas Rhode, Jay Rhode, Todd Rhode, Steven Rhode, Shannon Rhode, and Gregory Rhode. Honorary pallbearers were Tanya Wilke, Sonia Suda, Tamera Pfemmer, Kimberly Pfremmer, Julia Loehrl, Jennifer Rhode and Dana Mayne. Lucille Anna Schwarze was born on March 23, 1915, to Ed and Ella (nee Humke) Schwarze in Greenwood. She attended Greenwood High School and graduated in 1933. She attended Eau Claire Teacher’s College and graduated in 1934. She worked in Chicago until 1935 and then taught at the Kippenhan School, Greenwood, for two years. She married Gilbert C. Rohde on Sept. 9, 1937. They celebrated 62 years together and Gilbert died on Sept. 27, 1999.To this union was born five children, Gary, Richard, Alan, Gil Jr., and Le Ann. After she raised her children on the farm in the town of Eaton, she worked at Greenwood Elementary School for 10 years. She served as president of Clark County Homemakers from 1954-1956, president of the Trinity Lutheran Church Women and was a 4-H leader. They traveled to Zephyrillis, Fla., and spent 18 winters there after they retired in 1979. They moved to Eau Clair in January 1999 from their home on 26 Road, Greenwood. She will be sadly missed by her children, Gary (Helen) Rhode, River Falls, Richard (Marjorie) Rhode, Greenwood, Alan (Peggy) Rhode, Waukesha, Gil (Bonnie) Rhode Jr., Woodbury, Minn., and Le Ann (Tom) Pfremmer, Rau Claire; her grandchildren, Dean (Laurie) Rhode, Douglas (Pamela) Rhode, Steven (Chrystal) Rhode, Tanya (Bob) Wilke, Todd Rhode, Shannon Rhode, Sonia (Ben) Suda, Dana (Chris) Mayne, Jay Rhode, Julia (Todd) Loehrl, Jennifer Rhode, Greggory Rhode, Tamera Pfremmer, and Kimberly Pfremmer; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Kaitlin Rhode, Mason, Madison and Maxx Rhode, and Taylre, Ryleigh and Trevyn Wilke; and sisters-in-law, Alice Rhode, Eau Claire, and Velma (John) Nibbe, Madison. Preceding her in death were her husband, Gilbert, on Sept. 27, 1999; and her brothers, Walter and Ted. Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal assisted the family with arrangements. |
