(11 Feb 1923 - 16 Apr 2007) Alvin C. Krueger, 84, Colby, died Monday, April 16, 1007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation was from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19th, 2007, at Community Funeral Home, Colby and Friday from 11:30 until time of services at the church. Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 20th 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery with full military rites by Colby VFW Post 2227. Reverend Mark Neumann presided. Pallbearers were Jeffrey and William Gosse, Darell Krueger, David and Marlyn Laabs and Ambrose Schuh. Alvin was born February 11th, 1923 to Charles and Mary (Glenzer) Krueger in the Town of Green Grove. He graduated from Colby High School in 1941. He served his country during WW2 with the U.S. Army. Alvin and Marion Gosse were married September 6th, 1947. When they first married, he did cement work and later Alvin and Marion farmed in the Town of Colby. They moved to the City of Colby in 1976 and he ran the fertilizer plant for Harmony Co-op. After retiring, Alvin worked for Larry Oehmichen Short Lane Ag Supply. Alvin was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He was also a Lifetime Member of the Colby VFW Post 2227. He enjoyed planting a vegetable garden and giving produce away, loved playing cards, and helping to make quilts and lap robes for charity. He also enjoyed his cottage at Lake Mead with his wife and grandchildren. Alvin is survived by his wife Marion Krueger, Colby; one son, Charles (Scheree) Krueger, Sun Prairie; his grandchildren, Nikalas and Daccia Krueger; one sister Hazel (Herman) Gosse, Colby. He was preceded in death by his parent, one brother, Benny Krueger; on sister, Edna Krueger and three half brothers, Albert, Ernest and Oscar Laabs. Paid Obituary 11-69486 |
