Obit: Schaeffner, Clara I. E. (1888 – 1938) Surnames: SCHAEFFNER KEHRBERG The Loyal Tribune 22 December 1938 Schaeffner, Clara I.E. (1 JAN 1888 – 14 DEC 1938) Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon foe Mrs. Edward Schaeffner, of northeast of Loyal. She died Dec.14 at the hospital at Marshfield, of coronary embolism. Miss Clara Ida Elisabeth was born Jan. 1, 1888 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Kehrberg, in Marshfield, where she lived until 1914. After a year in Neenah, she came to Loyal, where she lived until her death. She was married to Edward Schaeffner at Loyal, Sept 26, 1917. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Marshfield March 22, 1908. Mrs. Schaeffner was an active worker in church organizations. She joined the Lutheran Ladies Aid in 1918, and the Woman’s Missionary Society at the time of its organization. She was secretary of the society for 10 years and then president of both Society and Aid for 3 years. She sang in the church choir for about 6 years and was organist of Trinity Lutheran church for 12 years. She was also chairman of the Lace Department of the Northern Wisconsin group of the woman’s Missionary Federation. Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 18, 1938, at the Lutheran church, Loyal, with Rev. J. C. Langholz, the pastor, officiating. Burial was at Loyal. Surviving are her husband, Edward Schaeffner; the parents, Herman F. and Augusta Kehrberg; a brother, Gerhard Kehrberg; and a sister, Hattie Kehrberg, both of Loyal. The pall bearers were Rev. Otto Kehrberg, August Kisten, Herman Kehrberg, Jr., Carl Wenzel, Arthur Zettler, and Erick Kehrberg. A memorial of $25 for missions and $11 for India Lace School was placed by the Ladoes Aid, Sunday school, and individual friends.
