Beaver, Frank J. (2 OCT 1888 – 18 FEB 1939)

Mr. Frank J. Beaver passed away at his home near Loyal Saturday evening February 18, 1939 at about 7:45 o’clock at the age of 50, after a lingering illness of several months, death being due to a complication of diseases.

Frank Beaver, son of John and Mary Beaver was born on the home farm in Pelsdorfon October 2, 1888. Here he grew to manhood attending school nearby, also being a faithful member of St. Balthasar’s Catholic Church, Loyal.

Frank was of a sunny disposition and had a cheerful smile for all.

On October 14, 1913 he was united in the Holy Bonds of Matrimony to Kathryn E. Flaherty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Flaherty, Loyal.

Ten children were born to them. Four sons and six daughters, namely: Gilbert, (Lorraine) Mrs. Alfred Degenhardt, Evelyn, Arthur, Joseph, Alice, Marcellain and Donna Mae. Two children died in infancy.

For six years Mr. Beaver was our local Standard gas dealer until the year of 1922 when he sold out his business and moved his family on a farm three miles northwest of Loyal where he lived until about two years ago when he moved to the present location.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society. He also was assessor of the Town of Loyal for seven years.

He leaves to mourn besides his sorrowing wife and children, eight brothers and four sisters, Mrs. Susie Wedl, Loyal; Mrs. Catherine Bauer, Loyal; Mrs., Lizzie Duvall, Marshfield; Mrs. Bertha Schmitz, Compton, Calif.; George of Granton; Mike, Nick, William, Edd, Phillip and Matt all of Loyal, and Bernard of Eaton. Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Pall bearers were his six younger brothers, Nick, William, Edd., Phillip, Bernard and Matt. Honorary pall bearers were his two elder brothers, George and Mike.

Funeral services were held from St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 21, at 9 o’clock with the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer officiating.

Burial took place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
