Dorchester – 18 Aug. 1882

Editors Times: Our young people are agitating the question of organizing a dramatic association. They seem very confident of possessing talent. We with them all success.

The Catholic Church in this place has been thoroughly repaired and improved. The inside work is very nicely done, and it speaks well for the enterprise of our Catholic brethren.

The proprietor of the Central House proposes giving a grand opening ball when the house shall be finished.

Elmer Tennant and his sister, Miss Carrie, entertained a select party of friends last Friday evening.

Miss Carrie Neef, of Portage, Wis., is spending a few weeks with her friend, Mrs. Bertha Van Dusen.

School opens August 28th, with Ed. Foster as head teacher and Miss May Ormes retaining her old position in the primary department.

Mr. and Mrs. S. Diggles, of Wautoma, who have been staying in town for a few weeks, left on Monday for home.

Mrs. E. H. Winchester leaves to day for a trip down the line. She will visit at Stevens Point and Wautoma, returning home in two or three weeks.

The champion croquet player, D. W. La Brish, is taking his summer vacation at Westboro.

Those who have been so fortunate as to hear Phelan play the violin say he is equal to Ole Bulle. Evidently he has mistaken his calling.

We wonder if Jones enjoyed his trip to Medford on Tuesday last. S. B. Hubbell extracted some teeth from him. Yet there are worse things than pulling teeth.
