Loyal – 24 Aug. 1883

The 17th Mr. Cline and Miss Menah Blado were married at the Lutheran church and had a good time, afterward entertaining his friends. They have both lived in this town, a little north of the village, for some time.

The 22nd, a Mr. Lincoln, who has lived near Greenwood, and Miss Lizzie Baker, of this town, were married at her father’s house by Mr. Harry Philpott. As soon as the ceremony were performed, the happy couple started for Vernon County.

Miss Cora Gwin is visiting relatives at Thorp.

Today Mrs. Stephens started for her home in Madison, accompanied to Neillsville by Mrs. J. C. Gwin.

Last Sunday morning C. Ratsburgh lost an ox by eating too much clover.

P. J. Folley’s eldest son, Eddie, is visiting his father at the camp for the benefit of his health which has never been very good.

Mr. Esleman, Mr. Carpenter, and Mr. D. Kinney have threshed their winter wheat which turned out about twenty bushels or more to the acre.

Two German families moved into the village this week. They are from Jefferson County, and have bought farms in the southern part of this town.

E. Dunivan has been finishing off the upper part of his store which is occupied by T. Philpott.

Grandpa Philpott was kicked this morning by a young horse which he was watering. It hit him in the side and he was quite badly hurt.
