Surnames; Wick, Wickers, John, White, Wilde, Kaudy, Mahoney ---Source: Neillsville Times (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 13 Nov. 1883 Colby – 10 Nov. 1883 Owing to the heavy rain of Monday the roads are in a terrible condition. A. R. and E. R. Wicks, of Stevens Point, were in town Wednesday. Justice J. D. Wicker has had his hands full disposing of cases during the week. Fred John has been arrested for helping steal cattle. The officers have been looking for his father for some time, and being unable to find him have arrested the boy. Put White and B. Wilde returned from Dakota last Wednesday and held a reception on the East side in the evening. The teachers of Colby and other town intend having a Teachers Association. They will have their first meeting at Colby on the Saturday following Thanksgiving Day. Prof. N. L. Kaudy arrived yesterday, and will visit with his people until Monday, when he will go up the line. Mr. Kaudy has been from the Pacific Ocean to Atlantic, stopping in all the large cities and painting portraits. W. Mahoney, of Spencer, is in town today. The entertainment in Colby hall last evening was well attended, and the performance was unusually good. Knickerbocker |
