Surnames: Kaudy, Sims, Parish, Mason, Sohn, Wicker, Prosser. Chalfant, Andrews ---Source: Neillsville Times (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 27 Nov. 1883 Colby – Nov. 24, 1883 Prof. N. L. Kaudy took the train today for La Crosse. J. F. Sims was summoned to Manitowoc yesterday, by the receipt of a telegram announcing the dangerous illness of his mother. J. K. Parish, of Medford, came down on legal business yesterday. I. W. Mason, of Neillsville, has opened a law office in Woodbury’s building, on the corner of Front and Spence Streets. The preliminary examination of Fred Sohn, for the alleged stealing of a cow, was held before Justice Wicker on Thursday. His honor thought best to bind him over to appear in circuit court. On last Wednesday young Clarence Andrews was sentenced to the reform school, on complaint of the W. C. R. R. agent here, and was taken to that institution at Waukesha on Thursday at Frank Prosser. Clarence has at different times stolen from people in the village, and had a bad influence over other boys in the village, so his removal will be a good thing for the town and may possible lead to him reformation. Rev. Arthur Chalfant and wife * Rest cut off. ** |
