Surnames: SEEFELD KRUEGER NEUMANN ---Source: Marshfield News Herald (Marshfield, Wood Co., Wis.) 01/06/1964 Seefeld, Herman (1 Oct. 1885 – 5 Jan. 1964) Spencer – Herman Seefeld, 78, president of the Spencer State Bank since 1927 and a director of the same institution since 1918, died Sunday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. W. R. Krueger will officiate, and burial will be made in St. John’s cemetery at North Spencer. Friends may call at the Jasperson Funeral Home from Tuesday noon until time of services. Herman Seefeld was born Oct. 1, 1885 in the town of Unity. He received his education in the Unity and Spencer schools, and began working as a cheesemaker at the age of 18 years. His marriage to Ida Neumann took place April 29, 1909 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, route 1, Spencer. After their marriage the couple settled on a farm in the town of Sherman, where they also operated a cheese factory. In 1949 they moved to Spencer. Mr. Seefeld was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, clerk at Groveside School for several years, director of the Farmer’s Spencer Cooperative from 1914 to 1952, and was president of this organization from 1921 to 1952. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Frank and Arnold, Spencer; two brothers, Frank and Albert, Spencer; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers. |
