(28 MAY 1917 – 21 MAY 2007) Anton A. “Tony” Hribar, 89, Lake Villa, Ill., passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007, at Victory Lakes Continuing Care Center, Lindenhurst. In accordance with his wishes, there were no services. Anton A. Hribar was born on May 28, 1917, in Willard, to Frank and Anna (nee Zitnik) Hribar. He married Pauline Francel on Nov. 17, 1948, in Willard. He grew up on the family farm, taking his turn at managing the family business until he moved to Chicago where he worked in various factories until he entered the military. He was a World War ll Army veteran, serving in the European Theater, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. After the was, he returned to Chicago and worked as a carpenter, finishing his career as a construction superintendent for Inland Construction. He was a 60-year member of IBC Local #839. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He loved spending time with his grandsons and enjoyed his time on the farm at Willard. Survivors include his loving daughter, Karen (Larry) Spires, Lake Villa: his grandchildren, Jonathan Spires, and Eric Spires; his brothers, Walter (Clara) Hribar, Greenwood, and William (Mary) Hribar, Willard; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his stepmother, Mary; his wife, Pauline in 1996; his brothers, Frank, Joseph, John, Ludwig, and Louis; and his sisters, Anna, Olga, Mary, and Bernice. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s School, 900 St Peter St, Antioch, Il, 60002, or a charity of choice. Warren Funeral Home, Gurnee, Ill., assisted the family with arrangements. |
