Eder, Amanda Hecker (10 Apr. 1879 – 14 Jan. 1933)

Mrs. Amanda Hecker Eder, a former Colbyite, was found dead in bed Saturday morning at the home of her son, Otto Eder of Fond du Lac. Funeral services were held at the Colby M. E. church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. F. E. Bushendorf officiating, and burial was made in the Colby cemetery. The pall bearers were Wm. Roth, Ben Riplinger, Emil Fasbender, John Pribnow, Robert Benz, Peter Apfelbeck. The flower girls were Helen Wharfield, Florence Sossoman, Eve McGreagor and June Tessmer.

The deceased was born April 10, 1879, at Greenbush, near Plymouth, thus reaching the age of fifty-four years, nine months and four days. When she was three years old she moved to Colby with her parents and was married to George Eder in Colby on April 11, 1896, and they moved to Fond du Lac in 1902. Her husband died in 1918. Surviving are one son, Otto, his wife and one grand daughter, Shirley Ann, of Fond du Lac; two sisters, Mrs. C. P. Tessmer of Colby and Mrs. Anthony Kolitch of Oshkosh; two brothers, Mr. Henry Hecker of Oshkosh and Dealo Hecker of Fond du Lac; one uncle, Mr. Fred Lindner of Colby; one aunt, Mrs. Gust Fiend of Tomahawk.

The out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Eder, Mr. and Mrs. Dealo Hecker, Mr. Clark Hatton, all of Fond du Lac, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Kolitch, Mrs. Eva McGregar, all of Oshkosh, Mrs. Chas. Schmidt of Milan, Mr. and Mrs. Bord of Spencer, Mr. Herman J. Tessmer, employed at Ashland, Wm. Hermann and daughter of Curtiss.

The deceased had always been a faithful member of the M. E. church, a good Christian and of a cogenial disposition so friendships circle to her was a large one who join in extending sympathy to the surviving relatives.
