Surnames: Merlock, Jerina, Kinsey, Mulligan, Ptasienski, Kawa, Gairns, Unsell, Hemmersbach, Lesnak ---Source: SNPJ Memorial Notice Merlock, Emma (19 April 1910 – 6 March 2005) Emma Merlock was born on April 19, 1910, in Bradley, to John and Mary Jerina; she spent her childhood in Owen, Wisconsin, and moved to the Waukegan/North Chicago area as a young woman; Emma Merlock married Frank I. Merlock on September 6, 1931. Mrs. Merlock was an active member of her community; she was a member of St. Anne KSKJ Society, St. Roch Society, and the Christian Mothers Sodality of Mother of God Church; she was a parishioner of Queen of Peace Church; Emma Merlock was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, and her sisters, Mary Kinsey and Jennie Mulligan; The passing of Emma Merlock will be felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, Frank (Mary) Merlock, Blanche (Gene) Ptasienski, and Jim (Kathie) Merlock; her grandchildren, Bill (Deb), Tony (Caron), Frank Al (Kaitlyn), Alan (Nancy Kawa), and Jay Merlock, and Greg (Diane) and Walt Ptasienski, Sandy (Mike) Cairns, and Megan (Randal) Unsell; her 18 great-grandchildren; her 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Sophie Mivshek, Frances (Bill) Hemmersbach, and Anne (Tony) Lesnak; and her brothers, Fritz (Frances) and Frank (Frances) Jerina. ***Additional Notes: Bill Hemmersbach was born in Greenwood. (Brother of Alfons); Jerina family (Slovenians) lived in Owen.
