Digoski, Walter C. (9 JAN 1924 – 12 JUL 2007)

Walter C. Digoski, 83, Neillsville, formerly of Willard, died on Thursday, July 12, 2007, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center, Neillsville. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, July 16, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Music was provided by Judy Coughlin, organist, and the Holy Family choir. Interment was in the Town of Lynn Cemetery, with military rites accorded by the Neillsville Veterans Council. Casket bearers were Dan Coughlin, Richard Jonas, Larry Jensen, Tom Moore, Charles Przybylski and Chester Przybylski.

Walter C Digoski was born on Jan. 9, 1924, in Willard, to Paul and Josephine (nee Morris) Digoski. He attended school in Willard and then farmed with his family. On April 17, 1945, he enlisted into the United States Army, serving in World War ll. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 14, 1947. He married Bertha (Hebert) McCann on Sept. 15, 1951, at the Corpus Christi Church, Bakerville. They had a son, Tim. He worked as an auctioneer and real estate broker in the surrounding area. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, and a member of the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post #73, Neillsville.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Jeanette (Richard) Jonas, Chili.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Bertha, on July 26, 1980; his son, Tim, on May 20, 1998; his parents; three sisters, Elizabeth Digoski in infancy, Caroline Przybylski, and Frances Moore; and three brothers, Peter, John, and Joseph.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
