Price, Catherine (27 Mar. 1885 – 30 July 1934)

Mrs. Stephen Price of Milan, a former Colbyite, passed away suddenly of embolism at the Marshfield hospital at 3:15 Monday afternoon. Funeral services are to be held at 9 o’clock this Thursday morning at St. Thomas’ Catholic church in Milan, the Rev. Urban Baer officiating, and internment will follow in the Colby cemetery. Nephews of the deceased, Foster and Jerome Will, Marcella, Cornelius and Vernon Foster, all of Colby and Roger Riley of Owen will serve as pall bearers.

The deceased submitted to an operation for gallstones July 14th, and was getting along splendidly. On the hour she was to leave the hospital for the home of a sister in Marshfield, where she was to convalesce, she suffered the fatal heart attack, brought on by a blood clot.

Her maiden name was Catherine Foster and she was born in the town of Colby March 27, 1885. At the age of sixteen she went to Milwaukee where she was employed in a hotel until her marriage to Stephen Price August 30, 1918. The widower and three children, Frances Wallace who resides at Park Falls and Antoinette and Eugene, who live at home, survive, as do three brothers, Alvin Foster of Colby, Walter Foster of Milwaukee and Elmore Foster of Merrill, and three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Will of Colby, Mrs. Jack Hobelsberger of Marshfield and Mrs. Patrick Riley of Owen.

The deceased was a faithful member of the Catholic church and the Catholic Altar Society. She was a kind neighbor, ever ready to help those in need.

She has lived at Milan the past sixteen years and has hosts of friends who extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.
