Hubing, Ethel (26 Mar. 1906 – 14 Nov. 1985)

Neillsville – Mrs. Anton (Ethel) Hubing, 79, Route 1, Neillsville, died at 11:37 a.m. at Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. The Rev. Joseph N. Henseler will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and again until 9:30 a.m. Monday at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. There will be a rosary service at 9 p.m. Sunday.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Paul, Scott and Tom Hubing, Steve Anger, Don Clark and Scott Edwards.

The former Ethel Mashak was born March 26, 1906, in Portland, to Frank and Amelia (Degenhardt) Mashak. She attended Portland and Middle Ridge schools.

She worked as a cook at St. Frances Hospital, LaCrosse, until her marriage to Anton E. Hubing on Oct. 14, 1930, at Middle Ridge. They lived at Loyal until 1934 when they moved to Neillsville. Her husband died March 26, 1974.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Parish Council of Catholic Women.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Marilyn) Gregorich, Waunakee, and Mrs. George (Kathleen) Senteney, Eau Claire; three sons, Adrian and John, both of Niellsville, and Delano, LaCrosse, a sister, Mrs. Arnold (Lorraine) Torkelson, Cashton; a brother, Raymond Mashak, Cashton; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia, and two brothers.
