Surnames: Sigglekow, Calburn, Keys, Cronwall, Jennings, Jones, Davis ---Source: OWEN ENTERPRISE (Owen, Clark County, Wis.) 10/21/1937 Siggelkow, Charles (22 JUL 1863 – 14 OCT 1937) Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 16, from the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Parlors for Charles Siggelkow, 74, who passed away on Thursday at the Luther Hospital at Eau Claire from a stroke which followed an operation for ruptured appendix. The Rev. Walter Kendall of Chetek officiated at the service, burial was made in Riverside Cemetery. Charles Siggelkow was born July 22, 1863 at Baraboo where he lived on a farm with his parents. He at one time held the public offices of school treasurer and assessor. For 37 years he was pastor of the Free Methodist Church, the past 17 years he has devoted to farming, only on various occasion did he do church work in recent years. He at one time served as pastor of the Gospel Mission here. Her served, in his most recent appointment, as pastor of the Free Methodist Church at Richland Center. He was united in marriage to Miss Stella Calburn at Evansville on July 22, 1902. To this union was born one son, Wesley, now residing at Withee, and three daughtrers, Mrs. Everet Keys of Richland Center, Mrs. Otto Cornwall of Thorp, and Florence, who passed away at the age of 16. Others who mourn his passing are three sisters, Mrs. Mary Jennings of Milwaukee, Mrs. Sophronia Jones of Yakima, Wash., and Mrs. Charles Davis of Readstown, all living; two brothers, William of Chicago, and Otto of Glendive, Mont., two brothers, Mont of Madison and Moses of Baraboo, preceded him in death. Pallbearers at the service were Clyde DeLaMater, Orville Reynolds, Lonie Sturgeon, Walter Peterson, Cecil Looker and John Hemminger. |
