Funeral services for Theodore Schaefer, a former Colby resident, who died as the result of a stroke of paralysis on June 2, were held at Hilbert, Wis., Saturday morning at the Catholic church at that place and burial was made in the Hilbert cemetery.

The deceased was born at Hilbert, Wis., Nov. 29, 1872, thus reaching the age of sixty-four years, five months and three days. He was married to Margaret Boer at Hilbert, Wis., in 1900. After they were married they moved to Manitowoc, and, in 1901, to Waupaca where Mr. Schaefer acted as foreman of a section crew. In 1902 they moved on a track of land west of Colby which was all wilderness and which he cleared and made into a fine farm. Eight years ago, he sold the farm to Bernard Newman and he and his wife moved to Sheboygan where they lived for five years after which they moved to Hilbert.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters – Mrs. Frank Will of Colby and Mrs. Lester Kading of Sheboygan, Wis. Also four brothers and one sister – Nick Schaeffer of Colby, Matt Schaffer of Hilbert, Andrew Schaffer of Green Bay, Jake Schaffer of Alberta, Canada, and Mrs. Hugo Geryso of Hilbert, Wis.
