Domer, William F. (15 June 1855 – 4 May 1938)

Wm. Domer passed away Wednesday night at his home four and one-half miles west and one-half mile south of Unity. Funeral arrangements were not made as we go to press.

Funeral services for Wm. F. Dommer, whose death was reported last week, were held Saturday, May 7th, at the St. John’s church at Riplinger, Rev. W. Gamb of Veefkind officiating, and internment was made in St. John’s cemetery. Pall bearers were William Wellman, Fred Dallman, William Ewald, Charles Molle, Joe Pachel, Ed. Kuester. The flower girls were Elaine Domer, Lorraine Justman, Ermine Orth, Merle Domer, Lyla Domer, Caroline Martens, Bernice Martens.

The deceased was born June 15, 1855, at Two Rivers, Manitowoc county, Wisconsin, and died May 4th, 1938, of uremic poisoning after an illness of two weeks, thus reaching the age of 82 years, 10 months and 19 days. He came to this locality in 1880 and engaged in farming. He was married to Emelia Schulte in Colby on Dec. 17, 1885.

He is survived by his widow and eight children: Mrs. George Orth of Abbotsford, Mrs. Louis Justman of Spencer, Mrs. Emil Martens of Unity, Mrs. Bernard Neuman of Colby, Leo Domer of Unity, Carl Domer of Unity, William Domer of Unity and Theodore Domer of Unity. Also twenty-two grand children and one grand son. One son, Joseph, died in infancy.

The deceased was a diligent worker, of a congenial disposition and well-liked by all who knew him. He was prominent in town and church affairs and held the office of town treasurer for over 20 years and various church offices.

Mattes of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Art Schueltte of Marathon, Mr. and Mrs. Bucholtz of Holcomb, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Domer and daughter of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Domer of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. John Tauschek of Luxenburg, Mrs. Henry Mur and son of Appleton, Mrs. Martha Rahn and children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schultte, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Laux, Miss Pauline Altenberger, Mrs. Mildred Altenberger, Mrs. Bertha Shuman, Mrs. Henry Mur, Mrs. Fred Stecker, Mrs. Herman Clem, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultte, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schultte of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Lipprandt and son, Harry, Mr. and Mrs. Ed.
