Schauer, age 94, of Cameron, MO, formerly of Thorp, WI died on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at the Green Grove Cemetery (St. Paul’s Lutheran Church) in Curtiss. Sarah H. Hannie was born on December 29, 1912 in Forrest Township, IL to Christian and Frances (Hasselbeck) Hannie. She was united in marriage to Hubert Robert Schauer on May 20, 1932. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1966. Sarah was the owner and operator of the Schauer Motel in Thorp for many years. She moved to Plattsburg, MO and lived there for a short time, until moving to Cameron, MO in 2003. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp, WI and later a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cameron, MO. Sarah volunteered in her spare time at the Cameron Regional Medical Center and at the Red Cross. Sarah is survived by: one son, David (LaReisa) Schauer of Plattsburg, MO; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Hubert; one son, James Schauer; four sisters and one brother. Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
