Kaczmaryk, Sophie (May 15, 1922 - September 24, 2007)

Sophie Kaczmaryk, age 85, of Owen, formerly of Lublin, died at the Clark County Health Care Center on Monday, September 24, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, in Lublin, WI, with Fr. John Long officiating. Cremainal interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Sophie Kaczmaryk was born on May 15, 1922 in Chicago, IL to Michael and Catherine (Smagon) Kaczmaryk. She was raised in Chicago and received her education at St. Josephat Catholic School, where she was confirmed on June 3, 1936. Her family moved to Lublin in the early 1940s. Sophie worked around her parents’ home, taking care of them for several years, until she entered Clark County Health Care Center on June 7, 1967. While at the health care center, Sophie helped with the meals, setting and cleaning tables, and also helped with the recycling program. She was a former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and had many interests, but especially loved religion, latch hook, arts and crafts, and music.

She is survived by one sister, Josephine Yale of Las Vegas, NV; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Elizabeth Lach and Cecelia Tytor.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
