Surnames: Feist, Drahos, Goalen, Swanson, Kunz, Schnobrich, Schumacker Source: The Journal (New Ulm, Brown County, Minn.) 03/25/2006 Feist, Lois (7 Sept. 1926 – 5 Feb. 2006) Lois Feist, 78 of Niceville, Florida and formerly of Fairfax and New Ulm, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Twin Cities Hospital in Niceville, Florida. Graveside services will be 1:45 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11, at the New Ulm City Cemetery. Lois is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Clyde Drahos; step children, Amy and T.J. Goalen, J. Michael and Dayna Feist, and Nancy and Bob Swanson; nine stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Charles and Rosemary Kunz, and Kathleen Schnobrich; and by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lavern Kunz in December of 1975; her second husband, John (Jack) Feist in July of 2002 and by a brother; Glen Schumacker. Lois was born on September 7, 1926, in Colby, Wisconsin, to Otto and Lulu Schumacker. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1944. On May 13, 1946, she married Lavern (Vernie) Kunz in New Ulm. She moved from Wisconsin to Fairfax and then to New Ulm in 1943. On October 9, 1981, she married John (Jack) Feist and moved to Lakeville. In 1988, she moved to Niceville, Florida. She was employed with AMPI for 28 years retiring in 1981. While in Lakeville, she assisted Lakeville Sanitary for five years. She was an honorary member of the Turner Ladies Society and the Rocky Bayou Country Club in Niceville, Florida.
