Surnames: Schaffer, Diedrick, Baer, Neuman, Will, Kading, Taubel, Nillis Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 12/07/1939 Schaffer, Margaret (27 Sept. 1876 – 26 Nov. 1939) Funeral services for Mrs. Theodore Schaffer, nee Margaret Baer, a former Colby resident, who died as a result of a stroke at the home of her sister and brother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Diedrick, on November 26th were held at Hilbert, Wis., Wednesday morning, Nov. 29th, at the Catholic church at that place and burial was made in the Hilbert cemetery. The deceased was born at Runto September 27, 1876, thus reaching the age of sixty-three years, three months and twenty-six days. She was married to Theo. Schaffer at Hilbert in 1900. After they were married, they moved to Manitowoc and in 1901 to Waupaca where Mr. Schaffer acted as foreman of a section crew. In 1902, they moved onto a track of land west of Colby which Mr. Schaefer cleared and made into a fine farm. Ten years ago, they sold the farm to Bernard Neuman and they moved to Sheboygan where they lived for five years after which they moved to Hilbert where Mr. Schaffer passed away on June 2nd, 1937. Since then, Mrs. Schaffer has made her home in Sheboygan. She is survived by two daughters – Mrs. Frank Will of Colby, and Mrs. Lester Kading of Sheboygan; three sisters and one brother – Mrs. Robert Taubel of New London, Mrs. Nillis of Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Nick Diedrick of Hilbert and Matt Baer of Hilbert. Also seven grand children. One sister and three brothers, Mrs. George Baer, John Baer, Nick Baer and Tony Baer preceded her in death. Those from here who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Will and family, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Schaffer, Tony Will and Wm. Will, Sr.
