Mrs. Ed. Jahr and Mrs. Eden spent all day Friday at the home of Mrs. Vernie Howard. The day was spent in marking preparations for the Ladies Aid bazaar, to be held Oct. 29.

Jimmy Waterman, Wausau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Waterman, underwent an appendectomy at the hospital at Wausau Monday.

Mrs. Ralph Okray and son, Peter, came from Madison Wednesday for a week’s visit with her mother, Mrs. Clark Waterman, at the E. A. Beeckler home.

Thursday, Mrs. Okray and Mrs. Waterman visited Jimmy at the hospital. They report him as doing exceptionally well.

Miss Ruth Pietenpol entertained the Royal Neighbor Lodge Wednesday evening and the Circle Ladies Thursday afternoon.

Several women from this neighborhood, that is, north of the town, have joined the home nursing class at Granton. Mrs. Will Eibergen, Mrs. Milton Hawley, Mrs. Emil Kurth, Mrs. Fritz Pietenpol and Ruth Pietenpol were in attendance at the meeting Monday night at the high school.

Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Mallory, Neillsville, were Monday evening supper guests at the Mallory home here.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wolkenhauer, Fairchild, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Garbisch, and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Helm and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Helm and family.

The Raymond and Alfred Foemmel families have exchanged place of abode. Raymond moved from the Rose Eberhardt farm to live with his on the home farm. Alfred left the home farm and moved to the Rose Eberhardt farm.

Cecil, Axel and Susan Moeller, brothers and sister of Mrs. Mike Mallory, were supper guests at the Mallory home Friday night. The boys are from Maquoketa, Iowa. Cecil will soon join the navy and Axel attends high school at Maquoketa.

Hubert and Geneva Lautenbach, Verna Elmhurst and Elaine Helm came up from Milwaukee for the weekend. The girls are employed in Milwaukee.

Rev. and Mrs. Richard Miller of Medford were Sunday evening dinner guests of Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Laesch. Rev. Miller delivered the special sermon Sunday evening in commemoration of the founding of the Ladies’ Aid society of the Zion Lutheran Church of Granton.

Mrs. Dick Elmhurst and son, Melvin, went to Chicago Monday for an indefinite stay. Melvin expects to attend school.

Miss Patty Winn, who came Friday to attend the funeral of her grandfather, Tom Wage, returned to Milwaukee Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Paulus of Chicago visited from Saturday until Tuesday at the George Beaver home.

George Beaver and his cousin, A. M. Paulus spent Saturday evening in Loyal visiting other members of the Beaver Family.

Relatives from Prentice and Phillips called at the John Pietenpol home Saturday.

Mrs. H. Trewartha and children spent Saturday afternoon with her father and sister, John Pietenpol, and Ruth.

John Pietenpol, daughter, Ruth, and Truman Davis accompanied Frank Davis and daughter, Stella, of Neillsville to Wausau Sunday. They spent the day with the Harry Davis family.
