Pacholke, Carl Heinrick Johan (23 June 1862 – 6 Aug. 1941)

Funeral services were held at the First Evangelical and Reformed hall in Colby Saturday afternoon for Carl Heinrick Johan Pacholke who died of old age complications Wednesday evening, August 6th, at 9:45. Internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Rev. S. A. Schmiechen officiated at the services. Pall bearers were Ed. Zillmann, Oscar Dittmeyer, Oscar Herrmann, John Pribnow, Louie Sachse and Paul Draeger. Those in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Edwin Fults, Mrs. Jack Hederer, Mrs. Ary Sixel, Mrs. John Pacholke, Mrs. Edward Pacholke, Mrs. Adam Fitzel, Mrs. Melvin Duvall, Mrs. Wm. Young. Paul Draeger, Jr., rendered two solos at the services.

The deceased was born in Coeslin, Germany, where he was married to Hulda Krueger on May 16th, 1884. They came to the United States in 1887 and lived in Pennsylvania, where Mr. Pacholke worked in coal mines until 1914, when he retired and they moved to Colby. Surviving are his wife and one son, Wm. C. Pacholke of Colby.

Out of town people here for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Pacholke of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Fults of Stetsonville, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Pacholke of Abbotsford, Mrs. C. H. Thomas of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hederer of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pacholke of Withee.

The deceased was a good Christian of a kind and indulgent disposition, a kind husband, father and neighbor and always endeavored to perform his duties to the best of his ability. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America.
