Radeztsky, Wilhelmina Riess (13 Aug. 1869 – 18 Aug. 1941)

Mrs. Wilhemina Riess Radeztsky died at the Marshfield [hospital] Monday night at 11 o’clock where she had been a patient the past ten weeks, cancer being the cause of her death. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon, August 21st, at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Mr. Harry Erickson officiating, and internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Pall bearers will be John Schwartz, Wm. Wepfer, John Zahorka, Chris Skilbred, John Anderson and Alvin Brotherton.

The deceased was born at Centerville, Wis., on August 13, 1869, thus reaching the age of 72 years and five days. She was married to Henry Radeztsky at Centerville on April 30, 1890, and shortly after they moved onto a tract of land in the town of Holton which was mostly wild land, but, by hard and diligent work, built a fine farm, starting out with a log house and log barn. Mr. Radeztsky died seven years ago after which Mrs. Radeztsky moved to the village of Abbotsford.

Surviving are six children – Mrs. Joe (Edna) Zahorka of Unity, Mrs. Frank (Laura) Sterzinger of Colby, Mrs. Richard (Martha) Kleinstick of Medford, Emil Radeztsky of Colby, Mrs. Otto (Alma) Parge of Milan and Mrs. William (Anna) Kroehn of Milwaukee. Also 18 grand children and one great grand child. The children and grand children are all here for the funeral.

The deceased, like all early pioneers, was of an industrious and congenial disposition, friendly with all who knew her and always was ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed. She lived a good Christian life and will long be remembered by all who knew her.
