(July 9, 1922 - September 30, 2007) Marvin P. Dachel, 85, of 569 Maitland Drive, Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, September 30, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls. He was born July 9, 1922, in the town of Arthur, the son of Peter J. and Rose (Kurtz) Dachel. He married Dolores H. Bowe on September 13, 1943, at St. Charles Church, Chippewa Falls. Marvin was a boiler operator for Walter’s Brewery, Presto and the Northern Center until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Name Society and Holy Ghost Church. Marvin enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, playing cards, and reading. He was an avid Brewer and Packer fan, and enjoyed making sauerkraut, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; two sons: James (Laura) Dachel of Oak Creek and Michael Dachel of Chippewa Falls; three daughters: Patricia Sparhawk of Stevens Point, Mary Ellen (Gary) Prill of Bloomer, and Barbara (Jack) Budzinski of Thorp; two brothers; Peter (Marilyn) Dachel, Jr. and Robert (Cecelia) Dachel, both of Chippewa Falls; two sisters: Helen Bowe and Mary Ann (Vernon) Culver of Cudahy; nine grandchildren: Brandon and Brian Dachel, Bridget Demski, Amy Perry, Jennifer Matke, Rebecca Rossman, Theresa Moreno, and Matthew and Luke Sparhawk; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Maurice Sparhawk; one brother, Bernie Dachel; one sister, Rosemary Ferguson; and one granddaughter, Stacy Ann Budzinski. Funeral services were held at 12 noon, Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Holy Ghost Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Edmund Doerre was celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment was in Hope Cemetery, Chippewa Falls. Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m.., Tuesday, October 2, and until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. There was a Christian Vigil Service at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family and friends may express online condolences at www.horanfuneralhome.com.
