December 16, 2005 Arndt, Betty Virginia (22 Sept. 1918 – 13 Dec. 2005) Betty V. Arndt Betty Arndt, 87, La Crosse, formerly of Neillsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at La Crescent Health Care Center in La Crescent, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Interment will be in West Weston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Betty Virginia Arndt was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Roy and Minnie Wilson. She was united in marriage to Robert Janke, and they owned and operated a tavern called the Old Mill in Okauchee. Robert died and Betty married Elmer Gormanson. They lived in Stone Bank. Betty worked for 20 years at Heartland Plastics in Heartland. They later moved to Neillsville. After Elmer's death, Betty married Clyde Arndt. They were married 15 years before Clyde died in 2004. Betty continued living in Neillsville until May 2005, when she moved to La Crosse to be near her daughter. She is survived by one son, Bill Janke of Milwaukee; one daughter, Barb (Ivan) Lutz of Hokah, Minn.; and two stepsons, Gene (Mary) Gormanson and Keith Gormanson, both of Wisconsin Rapids. Betty is also survived by four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. |
