Schofield, Albert (7 Nov. 1859 – 23 Feb. 1943)

Funeral services for Albert Schofield, 83, who passed away suddenly of a heart attack at his home in the town of Mead, 10 miles northwest of Greenwood, on Tuesday, February 23, were held on Friday afternoon, February 26, at 2 o’clock at the Schiller Funeral home in Greenwood. The Rev. Alex J. Abbott, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, officiated. Interment was made in the Spencer cemetery.

During the service, Ilene and Irene Abbott, with Mrs. William Olson as accompanist, sang “Face to Face” and “Rock of Ages.” The pallbearers were – Theodore Kippenhan, Charles Kraft, Ed Kippenhan, Lafe Gallan, Joseph Boh and Ray Hawley.

Albert Schofield, son of Hiram and Mary Elizabeth (Neil) Schofield was born in Grant County on November 7, 1859. He was married to Sarah Ann Wilson in the town of Sherman on June 18, 1893. They made their home there until nine years ago, when they came to Greenwood and settled on the present home farm.

He is survived by his wife and seven children, Mrs. Harry Pattison of View Field, Sask.; Bryon Schofield and Mrs. Raymond Miller of Sherman; and Robert, Percy, Clayton and Alvin Schofield of this vicinity. He was preceded in death by three children.

A brother-in-law, Percy Wilson, of Spencer attended the funeral.
