Surnames: Davis, Prochazka, Paulus, Scherer, Lastofka, Swanson, Chase, Meier, Bruhn, Zaeske Source: The Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.) 25 March 1943 Pre-Nuptial Showers Miss Stella Davis was the guest of honor at a series of pre-nuptial showers and parties the past week, the first of which was given Saturday afternoon at the George Prochazka home by her 500 club, the members presenting her with a beautiful tablecloth. At 500, Mrs. James Paulus, and Mrs. Matt Scherer had the honor scores. Monday night another 500 club honored Miss Davis at a shower at the home of Mrs. M. Lastofka, a dessert lunch opening the evening’s activities. Mrs. George Prochazka had high score, Miss Davis was second high and Mrs. Harry Swanson was presented with a traveling prize. Mrs. Roy Chase entertained a former bridge club Tuesday evening at her home on North Hewett Street in honor of the bride-to-be, the group presenting her with a beautiful rose. At contract, Mrs. W. H. Meier, and Mrs. Earl Bruhn had the honor scores. A dessert lunch preceded cards. Wednesday evening the unmarried women instructors of the Neillsville Public School system met at the home of Mrs. Otto Zaeske, honoring Miss Davis with a linen shower, card party and a lunch. Contract furnished and amusement.
