Meacham, Joyce (19 June 1915 – 17 Nov. 1943)

Miss Joyce Meacham, who had been ill for two weeks, died of pneumonia Wednesday evening, Nov. 17, at 9:30 o’clock at Chippewa Falls, at the age of 28 years. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:45 P.M. at the Lulloff Funeral home, where the body had been lying in state, Rev. Ellery J. Beal, Methodist pastor of Marshfield, officiating. Burial was made at Spencer. Pall bearers were Arnold Seefeldt, Arnold Bruesewitz, Hugh Seefeldt and Norman Mellenthin.

Miss Meacham was born on June 19th, 1915, on a farm near Spencer. When ten years old she suffered an attack of spinal meningitis and since that time had been at the Northern State Colony and Training School at Chippewa Falls.

Surviving besides her mother, Mrs. Mary Meacham of Colby, are two sisters, Mrs. Clarissa Dankemeyer of Tigerton and Miss Alice Meacham of Sparta, and four brothers, Earl of Roundup, Mont., Kenneth of Everett, Wash., Roscoe of Spencer and Harvey of Colby. Her father died 14 years ago.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. Clarissa Dankemeyer of Tigerton, Mrs. Norman Grenz and daughter, Pfc. Leroy Dankemeyer of Kentucky, Mr. and Mrs. Fischer of Tigerton and many friends and neighbors of Spencer.
