Richardson, E. Brent (15 NOV 1947 – 23 OCT 2007)

Loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, E. Brent Richardson, 59, Rockford, Ill., died at his home on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, after a long battle with Crohn’s disease. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Maywood Evangelical Free Church, Rockford. The Rev. Gary Kniseley officiated. Burial was in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford.

E. Brent Richardson was born on Nov. 15, 1947, at Waukegan, Ill., to Earl H. and Rachel J. (nee Anderson) Richardson. In1951, the family moved to Greenwood, where he attended Greenwood Elementary School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1965. He attended Pillsbury College at Owatonna, Minn., and later transferred to Maranatha Baptist Bible College, at Watertown, and graduated in 1970. He married Rhoda Moore on July 10, 1971, at Delavan. He taught school for several years at Pensacola Christian School, Pensacola, Fla., and then moved to Rockford, where he taught sixth grade and high school history at Rockford Memorial Baptist School for nearly 20 years. He loved music and was also band and choir director. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was a die-hard Cub and Green Bay Packer fan. He also loved woodworking, gardening, traveling and fishing. He enjoyed photography and having his own dark room.

Survivors include his wife, Rhoda; children, Timothy G. (Karen) Richardson, Rockford, Shannon (Mark) Wallace, Rockford, and Shari (Vance) Threatt, Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren and one on the way; parents, Earl and Rachel Richardson, Greenwood; sister, Patricia (John) Spate, Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
