November 21, 2007 Larmon, Eleanor Isadore (April 23, 1910 - November 17, 2007) Eleanor Isadore Larmon, age 97, of Neillsville, formerly of Minocqua and Marshfield, died at 1:36 p.m., on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at the Neillsville Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield, with the Rev. Scott Mareese-Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Woodruff WI. Eleanor Larmon was born on April 23, 1910, in Center, CO, to Jessie Calvin and Agnes Christina (Murray) Brothers. Eleanor married Sam Schwartz, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1954. She was then married to Lawrence Larmon, who died in 1997. Eleanor received her teaching certificate after completion of two years of Normal School. She was employed as a school teacher in Gilman, Gleason, Minocqua and Shawano. Eleanor was one of the first special education teachers in the Minocqua School System. After her marriage to Lawrence Larmon, they operated a general store in Hannibal, WI. Eleanor enjoyed writing poetry and was recognized for her ability with words, receiving designation as Poet Laureate of Wisconsin in 1966. Eleanor resided for a time at the Angelus Apartments in Marshfield before entering the Living Center in Neillsville. She is survived by one son, Henry (Linda) Schwartz, MD, of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Dorothy Schwartz, of Piscataway, New Jersey; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, James Donnell Brothers, Washington; and one sister, Carol Salome Brothers Bartlett, California. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
