Allbaugh, Adam Elijah (26 Oct. 1858 – 1 Sept. 1943)

Adam Elijah Allbaugh, 84, passed away at his farm home in the town of York, September 1, 1943, after an illness of nearly five months.

Mr. Allbaugh was born in Ohio on October 26, 1858, to Elijah and Keziah Allbaugh and has been a resident of Clark County for the past 42 years.

On December 24, 1882, at Bloom City, Wis., he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Parsons. Four of their seven children are surviving: Virgil, Garden City, Kan.; Wilbur, Thurston, Neb.; George, Neillsville, and one daughter, Nora, Mrs. Otto Drescher, Sheboygan. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Jessie Hillesheim, Richland Center, Wis., five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1932 and two sons, Emery and Teddy and one daughter, Grace, Mrs. Harold Branch.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. A. Gutnecht, and Rev. M. B. Ferguson, at the Methodist Church, Granton, on Monday, September 6, at 2 p.m. Burial was made in the Windfall Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Young, Merton Davis, Otto Schmidtke, Glen Lavey, Daniel Garbisch and Arnold Garbisch. Music was furnished by the Chili Evangelical Church.
