Salwach, Agnes (4 FEB 1875 – 20 MAY 1940)

Mrs. Agnes Salwach passed away of a stroke of paralysis on Monday, May 20th, 1940 at her home in the Town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.). She had attained the age of 65 years, 3 months and 16 days.

Agnes Rose Panek was born in Poland on Feb. 4, 1875. Upon coming to America she made her first home at Plymouth, Pa., where she was married to Albert Salwach on Oct. 13, 1896. Mr. Salwach died in 1914.

She came to Thorp about forty years ago and located on a farm near here. “Her life’s ambitions were her prayers. To raise her family of nine children that they might lead a faithful and happy life, although her face would be seen no more. To remember her soul in their prayers and should she gain heaven she would pray for them.”

She is survived by two sons, Peter of Thorp and Joseph of Hamtramck, Mich.; seven daughters, Caroline Salwach, Mary (Mrs. Peter Pabich, Julia (Mrs. Andrew Strzok), Anne (Mrs. Stanley Najuch) of Thorp, Emily and Dyme of Minneapolis, and Catherine (Mrs. Andrew Nyziol), Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs. Geo. Wojtyna of Lindora, Pa., and fifteen grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church, Thursday morning at ten o’clock, officiating clergymen being Father F.A. Kulig, Thomas Adamiak, of the local parish, and Father Jos. Rapala of Lublin. Interment was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Meske, Steve Lewandowski, Martin Przysmicki, Anton Koltis, Stanley Zmyslony and John Moskiewicz.
