Green Grove - Sept. 7, 1944

Word was received in this vicinity of the serious illness of Christ Dethlefson, former resident here but now of Milwaukee. Latest reports are he is improving.

Mr. and Mrs. John Scheer returned home from Appleton on Tuesday where they were called to attend the funeral of Mrs. Scheer’s brother, Fred Witt.

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kademan and sons left Thursday for St. Paul to spend a week with Mrs. Kademan’s mother, Mrs. Kate Vanderwyst.

S/Sgt. and Mrs. Clyde Langteau, stationed at Montgomery, Alabama, were Saturday visitors at the Wm. and Alex Winkel home.

Anthony Schigley accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Charles Sweeney of Unity, were week-end guests at the home of his sister, Mrs. H. Bogaard at Wheeler.

Mrs. Arthur Harsch of Chilton was a week-end guest at the Wm. Winkel home. Mrs. Harsch and Mrs. Winkel are sisters.

Mrs. John Salter of Wis. Rapids, Mrs. Otto Schulte and Mrs. Emma Glenzer were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Caroline Meyer.

Miss Grace Scheel is making a definite stay at the Walter Hake home.

Henry Schuh was taken to the Owen hospital on Monday evening for treatment.

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Winkel and daughters were Sunday dinner guests at the Christ Winkel home at Medford.

Mr. Walter Hake left on Thursday for Milwaukee to visit Christ Dethlefson who is a patient at a hospital there.

Miss Grace Dietrich of Milwaukee spent the week-end at the Paul Woik home.

Mr. and Mrs. George Terrio and Barbara of Neenah, Mrs. Arthur Harsch, Mrs. Walter Harsch and son, Russel, of Chilton and Frank Terrio of Abbotsford were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Winkel.

Miss Adeline Goetsch left last week for Elkhorn, where she will teach the coming year.

Mrs. Ray Boneske, teaching at Hatley, spent the week-end at the Walter Hake home.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schuh, Mrs. A. Sommers, Mrs. Wm. Wesenberg and Roy Knapp motored to Wausau on Sunday and visited at the Fred Knapp home.
