Beck ABBOTSFORD --Alice Marie Beck, 79, Abbotsford, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at her residence under the loving care of her family and Ministry Home Hospice Care. Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Saturday, March 4, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby with Monsignor John Malik officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in the town of Colby, with Larry Fierke, Bob Fierke, James Kleparski, Albert Beck II, Nick Kleparski and Richard Karlcik serving as pallbearers. Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2006, at Maurina/Community Funeral Home in Abbotsford. There will be a PCCW rosary service at 4:30 p.m. and a parish rosary service at 6:30 p.m., both Friday at the funeral home. The former Alice Kleparski was born July 13, 1926, in the town of Medford, the daughter of Andrew and Sophia (Bross) Kleparski. She was a 1945 graduate of Medford High School. Alice was employed by Bell Telephone Co. as a proofreader in Chicago. Alice and Anthony Beck were united in marriage on May 30, 1950, at Wuerzburg. She was employed at Figis in Marshfield and at the Colonial Nursing Home for 18 years before retiring. Alice enjoyed golfing, bowling and, in her younger years, loved to motorcycle with her husband. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a Catholic Family Insurance officer. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and reading. Alice will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Anthony Beck of Abbotsford; her sons and daughter, Daniel (Lynn) Beck of Phillips, Richard (Fran) Beck of Denver, and Susan (Lance) Mews of Marshfield; one sister, Helen (Don) Fierke of Stetsonville; and two brothers, Edward (Kathryn) Kleparski of Rock City, Ill., and Joseph (Helen) Kleparski of Rockford, Ill. Three grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and two great-granddaughters also survive. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Anne; and four brothers, John, Andrew, Ted and George. |
