Beawer, Charles (16 Oct. 1869 – 18 Aug. 1944)

Charles Beawer died at his home in Colby Friday evening at the age of 75 years after being ill with pneumonia for six days. Funeral services were held at the Zion Ev. Lutheran church Monday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Alvin Goldamer, Reinhold Voge, Henry Franz, Adolph Voge, Fred Kobs and Carl Cabler. Those in charge of the flowers were Marjorie Beawer, Irene Beawer, Audrey Whitney, Eileen Kobs, Patricia Reeves and Bernice Kobs.

The deceased was born in Danzig, Germany, on October 16, 1869 and came to the United States in 1885 and was employed in Milwaukee for several years. He was married to Marie Schultz in Milwaukee on Dec. 31, 1891, and, a few years later, came to a farm in the town of Hull. The Beawers moved to the city of Colby eight years ago and for a number of years Mr. Beawer was employed as janitor in the Lutheran church and school.

Surviving besides his widow are three daughters, Mrs. Henry Schauss of Colby and Mrs. August (Frieda) Plaski and Mrs. David (Ann) Aaron, both of Milwaukee; four sons, William of Colby, Carl of Hammond, Ind., Rev. Arnold of Miles City, Mont., and Fred of Racine; one sister, Mrs. A. Kuppert of South Milwaukee, 28 grand children and one great grand child. Five grand children are in the armed services. Four children preceded their father in death.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Beawer and son, Bobbie, of Hammond, Ind., Fred Beawer of Racine, Mrs. Aug. Plaski and Mrs. David Aaron and daughter, Louise of Milwaukee, Otto Beawer of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Goldamer and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Voge of Abbotsford.
